Empty aging

Time progresses
as we become
the victims
of empty aging.
We cannot help but spin
propelling the paint of our tears
centripetally out
not to wash but to change
the color of everything
we have seen before.
The photo that brought joy
now induces sorrow
as ignorance gives way.
Will I forever look back
at the promise of those years ... more »

Though you wish to not be
You dare not
Inflict your fate on others.
For in your loss of loneliness
Would lie an expansion of pain
Far too great
So alone is your fate alone.
"Damned if you do,
and damned if you don't"
You are cornered
But the corner
