I just started working on Google Video a few weeks ago, and it was exciting to release a new version last week - developing web apps (like Video) is way faster and easier than developing client applications (like Desktop).
The new version has a much larger video player - in fact, it scales to fit the size of your browser window. It's also based on Flash, which means it works on Mac and Linux in addition to Windows. You can also watch a 10 second "video snippet" right on the search results page, before deciding to click all the way through.
